Built in 1860, Ford House was once a general goods store providing much needed goods for the local mining community.
Today's three bedroom Ford House offers travellers the perfect base to discover the history of Kapunda and surrounding areas. But allow plenty of time as there are plenty of things to do in Kapunda. Start with a tour down Heritage Drive to the mine site that transformed the economic struggles of a colony, with a copper ore body, said to be "the richest in the world at the time". With that wealth, came grand buildings like Kapunda Museum - one of the best regional museums in the state and well worth the visit. Scour the walls of Ford House Tearoom whilst enjoying "a cuppa" and you'll see that Liz certainly indulges in a little antique retail therapy.
Stay a night or two at this cosy bed and breakfast, no doubt you will be invited to participate in one of her passions - the taking of tea.
